Think Twice About the Following Your Leaders - Don't Follow to Close

Large organizations do it, world governments and religions also do it. I'm not talking about sex, I'm talking about imposing their wills and doctrine on their followers. The control others have on our lives can be extremely stressful and full of guilt if we choose to believe that these people are right.

It never has made sense to me that God could let all the horrible things in the world continue to go on, even though he is a loving and compassionate parental figure. Religions and governments seem to be the biggest culprits here, they impose their will and doctrine on others less fortunate. When I say less fortunate, what I'm referring to is the people that don't get to make the rules and are known as the followers.

If the United States government chooses to go to war with another country, it can print money on paper and scraps of metal while convincing the rest of the world and United States citizens that this means something and has value attached to it. They can then use this money to finance what they would like to acquire or accomplish, even if it doesn't benefit others.

A good example of this would be sending your child to war to fight for something you believe in, at that time, but 10, 20 or even 30 years in the future you could find yourself changing your mind. This would become even more devastating if your child was killed in the war. Believing in someone else's cause might not benefit mankind and that's what we need to focus on. Improving the lives of people on the entire planet.

When you impose your will on other people, you eliminate free thinking. Freedom of thinking has added more good to the world than bad with great inventions, literature, people, philosophy, medical treatment and of course the list goes on and on. Some of these great thinkers had to change their thinking and sometimes is required going against their religion or government. Galileo was one of these people.

Think about it the next time you impose your will or your beliefs onto someone else without stating the fact that this was just your opinion and maybe you would like them to think about. But stating something in a way that suggests you're right and someone else is wrong will not benefit you or them in the long run.

Believing you're right, and someone else is wrong, seems to create limited beliefs. Closed minds lead to followers and we have plenty of followers in the world. We could use a few good leaders.

The Greatest Story Ever Sold - Christianity

I was watching a program on Christianity the other day when someone on the show mentioned, "Jesus might not be God." I couldn't believe what I was hearing, Jesus might not be God and Christianity might not be the true religion of the universe. If Jesus wasn't God, was God still God or was all the stuff made up to make us become a better race of people.

Christianity is often referred to as the greatest story ever told, but I never thought that that it would be the greatest story ever sold to humanity. You have to admit that Jesus might have been the one who instilled the thought of Christianity into someone else's mind, but was definitely not the person who formed the religion of Christianity.

The great salesman over the years were people like Paul (Saul of Tarsus), the Roman Catholic Church and all of the other Christian groups that have formed to develop modern day Christianity. I heard that there was over 30,000 forms of Christianity in the world today. That's hard to imagine but we all have to agree that there is more than I can count on both of my hands.

Jesus was Jewish and prayed to God regularly. Whenever there was a problem, Jesus would often tell his disciples that he needed to be left alone, so that he could pray to God. It's hard to imagine, if Jesus was God, he was actually praying to himself. Most Christians overlook this information in the Bible and have a difficult time explaining the text.

All it takes is one of these salesman (Reverend, Priest, Pastor or Clergyman) to figure out another way of twisting the simple words around to make sense to those who desperately seek to understand or agree with the Christian sales force. Hands down and without a doubt, Christianity has been the greatest story ever sold to mankind. With almost 2 billion followers, it's hard to show the hard-core, fundamentalist, Bible reading followers of Christianity that their story, quite possibly could be wrong.

I would like to give some relief to Christians, it's hard to imagine that other organized religions throughout the world believe in religious text that also can't be proven and to put it quite simply worked in the past, but will not work in the future. It's time for a new story, at least one that makes sense or we can make sense out of it in today's Times.

Putting Up With Organized Religion - How Long Do We Follow Something That's Outdated

Let me explain where I'm coming from in my writing. Organized religion worked good 200 or maybe 500 years ago, but I really don't see a need for it today. We fight wars over religion and even kill people that speak out against organized religion. Religions and governments all over the world control people through fear and pleasure.

I'm tired of people fighting and killing all over the world in the name of some religion. I once heard an Iranian man, through a translator, on our local news say, "if he dies in the name of Allah, he gets to go to heaven." I don't know if I want to be signed up for that program but obviously he believes in it enough and is willing to die for what he believes in, right or wrong. Some people view this man is evil while others view him as a hero, how do you think you would do this person?

What the Romans did to people 2000 years ago is what I would consider a very bad. Was the devil actually providing an evil influence for Roman leaders back then. I've never heard anyone mention that but they did kill Jesus of Nazareth and he seemed like a pretty good person.

If Jesus would have kept his mouth shut, he could have lived to a ripe old age. He chose not to, because he believed in his cause. Some Jews believe that he was under the influence of evil, that's hard to imagine. He believed that some of the ideas and teaching of the Romans and Jews were wrong and he was going to make them better. These leaders were afraid of change and decided to eliminate what they view as they evil problem.

I started writing to influence and educate people in a positive way. I really don't want to upset religious followers, but I would like them to understand, a little more about their religion. What causes people to kill others in the name of their god? Is that evil or an evil influence from other religion's of the world.

I would imagine most of these people choose to accept words from their religious leaders as facts and will never question their faith. If religious followers could understand other religions, maybe they wouldn't persecute them or try to convert them into their own beliefs.

My influence will affect others and will provoke them to think, always question your religion and when they start thinking, this is when I've made a positive influence in a constructive way. If someone starts to think about their religion and it gives them stronger feelings and deeper beliefs, maybe they can answer some of my questions, instead of avoiding them with spiritual scripture or faith.

Finding Friendships With Like-Minded People

Have you ever met someone and right from the very beginning they seem to be a wonderful person. Someone who makes you laugh and feel good, treats others with compassion and is a very nice person. Once you start to spend time with them, you start to notice certain faults and become confused at some of the statements that are coming out of their mouth.

After a while, you start to see less and less of these people and over time they become just another memory. Often there is a problem or difficulty in your relationship that led to the demise of your friendship. Maybe you loaned them some money or let them borrow something and they didn't repay you are never returned the item or items you loan them.

Somehow this wonderful relationship ended and usually it was from a problem, one that just didn't make sense to you.

This has happened to me more than once in my lifetime and I have noticed that people who give can always find someone willing to take. Their friendships are often lighthearted and never serious. To them, you are just another person on a long list of people they have used and discarded like a piece of trash.

Somehow these people convince you that you're the problem, you're the reason why the friendship had failed.

I would like to offer those a little hope who have been used or felt like they have been used in a relationship like this. Opposites do seem to attract and if you're a giving person, stop giving and you won't have to deal with people who are always willing to take what you're giving. Now don't confuse this with, changing your core personality or who you really are but rather, be more observant as you offer your services or friendship to those always willing to benefit somehow from your relationship.

If you're the kind of person who doesn't have very many friends, but wishes to have some, keep looking. People who give often don't associate with other givers and people who take don't hang around other takers. If you're looking for someone like yourself, you're going to need to change or readjust your thinking somehow. You're usually the reason why you keep attracting the same type of friends into your life.

If there's a sports, hobby or something else that you enjoy, maybe you can join a club. Spending your life alone or with the wrong friends can lead to misery. Keep trying to improve your friendship skills and pretty soon you'll have friends that are truly that, true friends, people whom you can really trust and appreciate.

Success Through Inspiration - Reading One Book

Could one book, read by one person change the world. One book written by Henry David Thoreau called "Walden", changed the lives of people in India and the United States of America. These people were treated like second-class citizens and soon were inspired to change because of one person gave them hope that they could.

This man died when he was 46 years old and I wouldn't consider him a world of success at that time but he did live his life, the way he wanted to live it, for the most part. He has inspired great people like Gandhi and Martin Luther King. He had no idea, at the time he was writing the book, the impact "Walden" would have on the world.

He wrote his book on daily experiences that he had living in a cabin for just a little over two years. Two years of his life and he created this wonderful masterpiece. It's amazing how the few hours a day, for a couple of years could create something that would inspire others to become great leaders and provide the world with inspiration.

People for years have been inspiring others to change their lives. If I had to make a list of all the people who had inspired me, it would be pretty long. There are a few books, movies, documentaries and individuals who have inspired me more than others. I'm sure you have lists of people that you look up to also. Changing the world to make it a better place will take individuals who are inspired by others, educated by others and helped by others to become who they are today.

Henry David Thoreau has inspired other people, and was also inspired by others. Never underestimate the success that you can be created through inspiration. Continue to receive your inspiration from great people and provide inspiration for those who need it greatly.

Starting with Simple Things

Let's start with simple things and work our way up to the bigger problems or habits we need to change. If you're the kind of person who loves to tackle the toughest job first and work your way down, then I have only one word for you, proceed.

Starting with the simple things or easier habits to change and develop someone's self esteem and increase their ability to set larger goals, can create even bigger change in their lives. The more you succeed at creating good habits, the easier it will become in the future.

Here is a sample list of things I would like to change about myself.

1. Quit talking about other people in a negative way.

2. Read one book each month.

3. Brush my teeth three times a day.

4. Prepare and eat healthier meals.

Looking at this list above, it looks like brushing my teeth three times a day will be the easiest task to accomplish. This doesn't mean I can't work on my other goals at the same time, but if I can't seem to accomplish any of these goals, I should focus on at least one at a time.

If it's possible to create a habit in 30 days, this gives me hope that I could at least change six things about myself within one year. This allows me to create one habit, every two months. This is plenty of time but if you need to focus on changing one habit every year, at least you're starting somewhere.

Start with the simple things if you're having problems accomplishing the larger goals in your life. Change often takes time and usually we have plenty of it. If you don't have plenty of time, to do the things you really want to live, restructuring your time could be your next super habit to achieve
